New study tests local injections for stubborn HS lesions
NCT ID NCT07261072
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares injecting secukinumab directly into skin lesions versus standard under-the-skin injections for people with localized hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The goal is to see if local delivery works better and causes fewer side effects. Thirty adults with HS lesions in one body area will be enrolled.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Secukinumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective and safer way to treat localized HS lesions with secukinumab, reducing side effects.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early exploratory trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Local injections may not work better than standard shots.
