New eye scan may spot glaucoma before vision loss begins
NCT ID NCT02710916
First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a detailed eye scan called SD-OCT can tell the difference between people with glaucoma and healthy individuals. Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness, and current tests often miss early damage. Researchers used new scan measurements on 109 participants to see if they could catch the disease sooner. The goal is to improve screening and prevent vision loss.
