NCT ID NCT06672536
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called SCT520FF for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss. About 82 adults aged 45 to 80 will receive either SCT520FF or an existing treatment (EYLEA) via eye injections. Researchers will check safety, side effects, and whether the drug improves vision and reduces retinal swelling.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
SCT520FF (an experimental drug injected into the eye)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for wet AMD, potentially improving vision and reducing the need for frequent eye injections.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase trial with only 82 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may cause side effects or fail to improve vision better than existing treatments.
