First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a device called the Selective Cytopheretic Device (SCD) in ICU patients with acute kidney injury and hepatorenal syndrome, a serious complication of liver disease. The device filters white blood cells from the blood for 7 days to see if it improves kidney function and blood circulation. The study involves 10 participants who are not on a liver transplant list and have worsening kidney failure. The main goals are to check safety and whether the device helps patients become dialysis-free.
