New radiation approach may delay need to switch cancer drugs in advanced breast cancer

NCT ID NCT06260033

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether a precise type of radiation (SBRT) can allow people with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer that has spread and is starting to grow again to keep using their current medication instead of switching to a new one. About 18 participants will receive SBRT to their growing tumors and be monitored with special PET scans (FES PET/CT) to see how well the cancer is controlled. The goal is to see if this approach can extend the time before a treatment change is needed.
