First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 05, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This long-term study tests whether saroglitazar magnesium can prevent serious liver complications in people with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a rare autoimmune liver disease. About 386 adults already on standard treatment will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drug delays events like liver failure, need for transplant, or death.
