First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a Samsung smartwatch can detect signs of depression and anxiety. About 220 adults (135 with depression and 85 healthy) will wear the watch for 3 months while it tracks heart rate, sleep, and steps. The goal is to see if the watch's 'Mindfulness Index' can accurately identify people with major depressive disorder. This is an observational study, not a treatment trial.
