Can a common supplement shield your liver from chemo damage?
NCT ID NCT06258525
Summary
This study is testing if a dietary supplement called SAMe can prevent liver damage caused by a common chemotherapy drug (oxaliplatin) in patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. About 30 patients will take SAMe pills daily during their 3-6 months of chemotherapy before liver surgery. The main goal is to see if the supplement helps keep the liver healthier for a safer surgery.
