New ultrasound technique could spot hidden cause of infertility without surgery
NCT ID NCT07416591
First seen Feb 22, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a simple ultrasound procedure called saline infusion sonohysterography (SIS) can accurately find pelvic adhesions (scar tissue) in women who are having trouble getting pregnant. About 120 women aged 18-45 who are suspected to have pelvic adhesions will receive SIS, and the results will be compared to the standard surgical method (laparoscopy). The goal is to see if SIS can be a less invasive, radiation-free way to diagnose this common cause of infertility.
