Dietary salicylates may offer new hope for preventing preeclampsia

NCT ID NCT06239363

First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating foods rich in natural salicylates (like certain fruits and vegetables) can help prevent preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication. Researchers will measure the diet and blood/urine levels of 500 pregnant women, including those with and without preeclampsia, to see if these natural compounds work similarly to low-dose aspirin in protecting placental health. The goal is to develop dietary recommendations to reduce the risk of preeclampsia.
