Washing kidneys before transplant may stop hidden virus
NCT ID NCT07488481
First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests whether treating a donor kidney with a drug called SYN002, while it is kept on a machine outside the body, can safely reduce the risk of passing a common virus (CMV) to the recipient. About 12 adults waiting for a kidney transplant will take part. The main goal is to see if the treated kidney works well after transplant and if it lowers the chance of CMV infection.
