New hope for teens with HIV: counseling cuts suicide risk

Summary

This study tests a counseling program called Friendship Bench + Safety Planning for teens aged 13-19 living with HIV who have had suicidal thoughts. The goal is to see if the program is practical, acceptable, and helps reduce suicidal thoughts and improve HIV care. Sixty participants will be split into two groups: one gets the counseling, the other gets standard care plus extra support.
