Pharmacies vs street dealers: which cannabis is safer for your health?

NCT ID NCT06120855

Summary

This study aims to understand if buying regulated cannabis from pharmacies, combined with pharmacist counseling, leads to better health and social outcomes for recreational users compared to buying from the illicit street market. Over 1,000 adult cannabis users in Switzerland are randomly assigned to either buy from pharmacies or continue their usual sources and are followed for 6 months. The pharmacy group is encouraged to use safer methods like vaping instead of smoking and receives advice on reducing risky substance use.
