First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tested a newer, simpler weight loss surgery called SADI-S against a standard, more complex one (BPD-DS) in 62 adults with severe obesity. The goal was to see if SADI-S is safer and works as well for weight loss and related health problems like diabetes. Researchers measured surgery time, complications, and weight loss over up to 5 years.
