New hope for deadly breast cancer spread: drug duo targets brain lining

Summary

This study tests a combination of two drugs—sacituzumab govitecan (given through a vein) and pemetrexed (given into the spinal fluid)—for people with HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord (leptomeningeal metastases). The goal is to find a safe dose and see if it helps control the disease. About 34 adults will take part.
