Zapping tumors with precision: new study tests SABR for metastatic cancer

NCT ID NCT02933242

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a high-dose, targeted radiation treatment called SABR can safely control cancer that has spread to a few spots in the body (oligometastases). About 400 adults with up to 5 metastatic tumors will receive SABR, and researchers will track side effects, quality of life, and survival. The goal is to see if this approach can help manage the disease without curing it.
