NCT ID NCT05203471
First seen Apr 29, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 29, 2026
Summary
This study tested a new way of coordinating care for rural patients with diabetic foot ulcers, who are at higher risk of major leg amputation. The model brought together rural clinics and specialists to ensure patients got the right vascular and infection care quickly. Researchers compared outcomes in 131 patients receiving this integrated care to historical data, looking at whether fewer amputations occurred. The goal is to gather evidence for a larger trial that could reduce health disparities.
