Common heart drug may hold key to slowing deadly liver disease
NCT ID NCT05832229
Summary
This study is testing whether a cholesterol-lowering drug called rosuvastatin can safely slow the progression of liver cirrhosis. It will involve about 256 adults with early-stage cirrhosis who are not yet experiencing severe complications. Participants will take either the drug or a placebo daily for two years to see if the medication reduces liver stiffness and delays serious liver problems.
