Can a cream beat rosacea redness? new study tests it against placebo
NCT ID NCT07521462
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a special dermocosmetic cream can reduce facial redness and visible blood vessels in people with a common type of rosacea. Fifty adults will apply the cream to one side of their face and a placebo to the other, twice daily for two months, then continue while also receiving laser treatments. Researchers will compare the cream's effects alone and with laser to see if it helps calm redness better than placebo.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
dermocosmetic cream
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a safe, non-prescription option to reduce redness and visible blood vessels from rosacea, possibly boosting laser treatment results.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with no phase, so results may not be conclusive. The cream is cosmetic, not a drug, so any improvement is likely modest and temporary.
