First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested three different therapies—robotic rehabilitation, functional electrical stimulation, and occupational therapy—in 30 adults with incomplete tetraplegia (partial paralysis of all four limbs). The goal was to see which approach best improves hand and arm function for daily tasks. Participants were not expected to take lifelong medication, so this is not a cure but a symptom-ease study.
