New test aims to end misdiagnosis of restless legs syndrome

NCT ID NCT07110961

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple test called the suggested immobilization test (SIT), along with heart rate monitoring, can help doctors diagnose restless legs syndrome (RLS) more accurately. Currently, RLS is diagnosed based on symptoms, which can be tricky. The study will include 52 adults who are already scheduled for a sleep study. The goal is to see if this objective test can tell RLS apart from other conditions that look similar.
