First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special nerve block (RISS) can help control pain after video-assisted chest surgery. 90 adults were randomly assigned to get the block plus general anesthesia or general anesthesia alone. Researchers measured pain scores, how often patients used a pain pump, and side effects. The goal was to see if the block improves recovery and reduces the need for strong painkillers.
