Can a new eye drop boost laser results for glaucoma patients?
NCT ID NCT06865144
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether Rhopressa eye drops can further lower eye pressure in people with glaucoma or high eye pressure who recently had laser surgery (SLT) in both eyes. About 70 adults will receive either Rhopressa or placebo drops daily for several weeks. The goal is to see if the drug provides extra pressure reduction beyond the laser alone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Netarsudil ophthalmic solution 0.02% (Rhopressa eye drops)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that Rhopressa safely lowers eye pressure after laser treatment, offering an additional option for glaucoma management.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not lower pressure enough or could cause side effects like eye redness or irritation.
