First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested a non-invasive treatment called low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (LF-rTMS) in 60 people who had an ischemic stroke within the previous 48 hours. The goal was to see if the magnetic pulses could slow brain damage and improve recovery. Participants were randomly assigned to receive the stimulation or standard care, and researchers measured changes in stroke lesion size and disability levels.
