New eye camera could spot early signs of retinal stress
NCT ID NCT01981148
First seen Jun 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study used a special camera to measure how long natural fluorescent substances in the retina stay lit up after being excited by light. The goal was to see if these measurements can reveal areas of the retina under stress, like from poor blood flow. Nearly 900 healthy volunteers and patients took part, with some having up to four measurements over two years. The research aims to improve understanding of retinal health and disease detection.
