New drug aims to fix the Body's insulin system in diabetes
NCT ID NCT06982859
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new drug called retatrutide to see how it affects the body's ability to produce and respond to insulin in people with type 2 diabetes. It will involve about 95 adults and compare the new drug against a placebo and another existing diabetes medication over 28 weeks. The main goal is to understand if retatrutide can improve the function of the pancreas cells that control blood sugar.
