Exercise may ease steroid side effects in transplant patients

NCT ID NCT05236062

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a home-based exercise program (aerobic and resistance training) is practical and helpful for adults who develop graft-versus-host disease after a stem cell transplant and are starting high-dose steroids. About 36 participants will either do the exercise program or simple stretching. The main goal is to see if most people can stick with the exercise routine, and researchers will also check if it improves blood sugar control and other side effects.
