Laser vs. splints: which eases carpal tunnel pain best?
NCT ID NCT07294157
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two treatments for carpal tunnel syndrome: resting splints and high-intensity laser therapy, both added to standard physical therapy. Researchers will measure pain, hand function, nerve signals, and grip strength in 78 adults aged 18-75. The goal is to see which approach works better for easing symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
High-intensity laser therapy and rest splints
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that adding high-intensity laser therapy to standard physical therapy provides better pain relief and hand function than rest splints for carpal tunnel syndrome.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 78 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The study compares two common treatments, so no major breakthrough is expected.
