New PET scan technique sharpens lung cancer detection
NCT ID NCT01812031
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a special breathing-synchronized PET scan to get clearer pictures of lung nodules. 103 adults with small lung spots (under 35 mm) had a standard PET scan plus an extra 10-minute gated scan. The goal was to see if this method improves detection of lung cancer or other lung diseases by reducing blur from breathing.
