New pill shows promise for fatty liver in major trial

Summary
This study tests a daily pill called resmetirom in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The goal is to see if it safely reduces liver fat and cholesterol over 52 weeks. About 810 adults who completed earlier related studies are taking part. This is a long-term treatment approach, not a cure.
