Could a Late-Stage clot removal save mild stroke patients from worsening?

NCT ID NCT06155032

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a procedure to remove a blood clot from the brain (endovascular therapy) can help people who had a mild stroke but then got worse because of a large blockage. The treatment is given more than 24 hours after the stroke started. About 272 adults with mild stroke symptoms that later worsened will be randomly assigned to get either standard medical care alone or standard care plus the clot-removal procedure. The goal is to see if the procedure leads to better recovery after 90 days.
