Heart stent sham trial aims to uncover real benefits for stiff heart patients

NCT ID NCT07560436

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether opening blocked heart arteries with stents can improve quality of life for people with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a condition where the heart muscle is stiff. About 350 adults with both HFpEF and coronary artery disease will be randomly assigned to receive either a real stent or a placebo procedure. Researchers will track changes in symptoms and well-being over 6 months to see if stenting truly helps.
