This study tests whether a non-invasive ultrasound measurement called the renal resistive index (RRI) can predict if acute kidney injury (AKI) will progress to a severe stage in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Researchers will measure RRI in 120 adults with early-stage AKI within 24 hours of ICU admission and track their kidney function daily. The goal is to see if RRI can identify patients who may need renal replacement therapy (dialysis) and to assess its link to mortality at 14 and 28 days.
