Phone-Based care teams show promise for easing dementia burden

NCT ID NCT05669365

Summary

This study tested a remote care program for people with dementia and their family caregivers. Over 1,200 patient-caregiver pairs across six U.S. health systems received 12 months of support via phone and web from trained navigators supervised by dementia specialists. The research aimed to see if this accessible model improves care quality, reduces emergency visits and risky medications, and lessens caregiver depression in real-world settings.
