Can your phone predict Post-Surgery confusion?
NCT ID NCT05566275
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a smartphone app could measure thinking and memory skills in older adults before major spine surgery. The goal was to see if these remote tests could help identify patients who might be at higher risk for developing confusion (delirium) after their operation. Researchers compared the app results with standard in-person assessments and tracked which patients experienced post-surgery delirium.
