Summary

This study tested a device called RELAY that delivers both numbing medicine and mild electrical pulses to nerves after shoulder or foot surgery. The goal was to see if it can safely provide up to 28 days of pain relief, reducing the need for opioids. Twenty adults who had surgery took part, and researchers focused on improving how the device is placed and used during the first week after surgery.
