First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether doing relaxation exercises before neck movements can reduce muscle tension and pain in people with chronic neck pain. 34 participants will either do relaxation exercises guided by an audio recording or receive no treatment. Researchers will measure muscle activity and pain levels to see if the exercises help.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
relaxation exercises guided by a standard audio record
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, low-cost way to reduce neck pain and muscle tension without medication.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early observational study (34 people) with no blinding, so results may not be reliable or apply to everyone. The intervention is short-term and may not produce lasting benefits.
