NCT ID NCT07143539

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether starting a structured exercise and education program soon after a hospital stay for a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs) can improve quality of life and reduce long-term symptoms like shortness of breath. About 160 high-risk adults will be randomly assigned to either the 6-8 week rehab program or standard follow-up care. Researchers will track changes in physical function, breathlessness, and mood over 6 months.
