Numbing showdown: which anesthesia gets you home faster after vein surgery?
NCT ID NCT07297082
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to numb the leg for varicose vein surgery: a femoral nerve block (injecting numbing medicine near the groin) and low-dose spinal anesthesia (injecting medicine near the spine). The goal was to see which method allows patients to go home sooner after the procedure. Forty adults having vein surgery took part, and researchers measured how long it took for feeling and movement to return, and when patients were ready to leave.
