Foot rub and ice pack may take the edge off painful chest tube removal

NCT ID NCT07528482

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a combination of reflexology (a type of foot massage) and cold application before removing chest tubes can lower pain and anxiety in people who have had heart bypass surgery. Chest tube removal is often very painful and stressful. The researchers will compare patients who receive this non-drug treatment to those who do not, measuring pain, anxiety, and vital signs. The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to improve comfort during recovery.
