First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested a nerve block (rectus sheath block) using a long-acting numbing medicine to control pain after gynecologic cancer surgery. Thirty patients received the block and were compared to 60 similar patients who had standard pain treatment. The goal was to see if the block reduces the need for opioid painkillers in the first three days after surgery.
