Simple wash during surgery may stop rectal Cancer's return

Summary
This study is testing whether rinsing the rectum with a liquid during keyhole surgery can lower the chance of rectal cancer coming back. About 1,600 people having surgery for mid-to-low rectal cancer will be randomly assigned to receive the rinse or not. Researchers will track cancer recurrence, survival, and quality of life for up to 5 years after surgery.
