Could a simple supplement boost rectal cancer treatment?

Summary

This study is testing if adding a dietary supplement called β-hydroxybutyrate (a type of ketone) to a standard combination of short radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy can improve results for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. It will involve 48 adults who have not yet received any cancer treatment. The main goal is to see if this combined approach leads to a complete disappearance of the cancer.
