First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether chemotherapy alone works as well as chemotherapy followed by radiation for people with advanced rectal cancer that can be surgically removed. About 540 adults with mid or low rectal cancer will be randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups. The goal is to see if skipping radiation can maintain cancer control while reducing side effects.
