First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This pilot study in 12 healthy volunteers aims to see if biological sex influences how quickly people recover from unconsciousness caused by the sedative dexmedetomidine. Researchers will also test if a brain measurement technique called TMS-EEG can safely track brain activity during sedation without waking participants. The study does not offer treatment but seeks to better understand consciousness and recovery.
