Massive Real-World study to see if targeted pills boost survival after lung cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07593248
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This observational study will follow about 2,000 patients in China who have early-stage lung cancer with a specific gene mutation (EGFR) and have received targeted therapy pills (EGFR-TKIs) after surgery. Researchers will track how long patients live and how long they stay cancer-free over five years. The goal is to see how well these drugs work in everyday medical practice, outside of controlled clinical trials.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- EGFR-TKI (a type of targeted therapy pill)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could provide real-world evidence on how well EGFR-TKIs work as an add-on treatment after surgery for early-stage lung cancer, potentially guiding future treatment decisions.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by patient differences and cannot prove cause and effect. It only includes patients in China, so findings may not apply globally.
