Scientists investigate hidden muscle loss in cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT02567669

Summary

This study aims to understand whether breast cancer patients lose muscle outside the radiation treatment area during radiotherapy, and if that muscle loss is connected to their fatigue. Researchers will follow 20 women with non-metastatic breast cancer, measuring their muscle via CT scans and asking about their fatigue levels before, during, and after their standard radiation treatment. The goal is to gather knowledge about these side effects to potentially improve future patient care.
