Zapping brain tremors without surgery: new radiation treatment tested
NCT ID NCT03305588
Summary
This study is testing a non-surgical radiation treatment for people with severe, medication-resistant hand tremor from Parkinson's disease or Essential Tremor. It is for patients who are not good candidates for or do not want deep brain stimulation surgery. The treatment uses precisely targeted radiation beams to calm the overactive brain area causing the tremor, aiming to reduce shaking and improve daily life.
