New hope for chronic knee pain after replacement? radiofrequency ablation under study
NCT ID NCT05920382
First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study is for people who still have knee pain for at least 6 months after knee replacement surgery. Researchers are testing a procedure called radiofrequency ablation, which uses heat to calm specific nerves around the knee, to see if it reduces pain and improves daily function. Half of the 86 participants will receive the real procedure, and the other half will receive a placebo, so the results can be compared fairly.
