New combo attack on breast cancer brain tumors

NCT ID NCT03807765

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether combining a precise form of radiation (stereotactic radiosurgery) with an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) is safe and can help control breast cancer that has spread to the brain. It involved 14 adults with metastatic breast cancer and brain tumors. The main goal was to check for serious side effects, especially in the brain, while also seeing if the treatment could slow the cancer's growth.
